The fastest way to reach the journal is email: hello@dailyhem.com. We read everything; we answer almost everything; we are slowest on Sundays, for reasons the newsletter makes obvious.

Pitches

We commission essays, reported features, and interviews across focus, habits, training, and wellbeing. Send two or three sentences on the idea and a line about yourself.

What we are looking for: arguments with a position, ideally one that cuts against the genre's received wisdom. Practices you have actually run for a year, including the parts that failed. Reporting on the research, by people willing to say when a famous finding is thinner than its reputation.

What we are not looking for: listicles, morning routines belonging to people who are already rich, anything with the word hack in the headline, and protocols presented with more confidence than the underlying evidence supports.

Corrections

If we have got something wrong — a fact, a figure, a study characterised badly — tell us and we will fix it and say that we did. In a genre this full of confidently repeated nonsense, being correctable is most of what integrity means.

Everything else

Reader mail is genuinely welcome, particularly the disagreements. Advertising and partnership enquiries go to the same address; note that we do not sell coverage, and the answer to "sponsored post" is no.

The Sunday Dispatch

One considered letter a week — one idea worth trying, one worth dropping, and the evidence for both. No streaks, no shame, no 5 a.m. evangelism.
