Daily Hem respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect very little ourselves — an email address, if you give us one — but the Site carries advertising and affiliate links, and those partners set their own cookies. Section 3 tells you how to opt out.
Newsletter signups. When you subscribe to The Sunday Dispatch, we collect the email address you provide. Our form provider also records basic technical details of the submission (such as IP address and browser type) for spam prevention.
Ordinary web logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, time of request) for security and operations.
Advertising and affiliate links. The Site carries display advertising and affiliate links. Ad networks and affiliate networks set their own cookies and may collect device and browsing information to measure performance and target advertising. When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer and the affiliate network can see that you arrived from Daily Hem, and may set a cookie to attribute a later purchase to us. We receive aggregate commission reporting, not your identity or your order contents.
Your email address is used for one purpose: sending you Daily Hem's newsletter and, occasionally, service messages about it (for example, a change of schedule). We do not sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page to review or change your choice at any time.
Advertising and affiliate tracking on this Site — ad tags, affiliate impression pixels, and the affiliate script that can rewrite outbound links into tracked ones — stays switched off until you opt in. Not merely inactive: the requests are never made, so there is nothing to set a cookie with. Declining leaves the rest of the Site fully working.
There is one thing we cannot switch off on your behalf, and we would rather be exact about it than reassuring. If you follow an affiliate link out to a retailer, that retailer and its affiliate network set their own cookies on their own site, under their own policies — the same as if you had typed their address directly. Your choice here governs this Site. It does not govern theirs. You can also browse with an ad blocker; nothing on the Site is gated behind advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to run the Site, each of which processes your data only on our behalf: Netlify (website hosting and form capture), Brevo (newsletter contact management and email delivery), and our advertising and affiliate network partners, which operate under their own privacy policies. Each provider maintains its own security and privacy practices, and your data may be processed in the country where those providers operate their infrastructure.
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails immediately, and we remove your address from our lists in the ordinary course of maintenance.
You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — email hello@dailyhem.com and we will act on your request promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor reasonable requests from everyone regardless of jurisdiction.
The Site is a general-audience publication and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes affecting newsletter subscribers will be announced in the newsletter itself.
